David Oyedepo, the founder of Living Faith Church, has described how a church pastor who had been kidnapped was freed after he had a direct conversation with the abductors.
Speaking during a sermon that went viral, Oyedepo claimed that when the kidnappers contacted the church to demand a ransom, he gave them a severe warning.
“One of our pastors was abducted once,” he continued. “Give me the phone and I told them, in 24 hours, if you don’t release him, you are dead,” I said when they called.
The cleric claims that as soon as the conversation ended, things changed.
“After that, the place was vibrating,” he added, adding that the priest who had been abducted was soon freed.
Oyedepo advised churchgoers to provide his phone number to kidnappers in the event that they are abducted.
“Give my number to anyone who chooses you. I won’t be sent if he isn’t cut down. If you find it, you carry the same force,” he remarked.
The bishop also related another story about a female churchgoer who was kidnapped but eventually set free.
According to him, the kidnappers allegedly became agitated when the victim told them, “My father said I’m getting out of here latest by 7 am.”
He said, “The kidnappers began cutting themselves.”
