Dan Nwanyanwu, National Chairman of the Zenith Labour Party (ZLP), has accused President Bola Tinubu’s followers and the All Progressives Congress (APC) of plotting to rig the 2027 election.
According to Naija News, Nwanyanwu made the accusation on Tuesday during an appearance on Politics Today on Channels Television.
He promised that during the elections, the opposition would fiercely challenge the ruling party.
Additionally, he denied assertions that the results of the 2027 presidential election have already been determined.
“I think they want to write outcomes. We’re ready; we’ll give them a pen and paper so they can record the outcomes. We are not leaving this country; we will stay here. There will be competition in this election. “It’s not done,” Nwanyanwu remarked.
His comments coincide with increased political activity as the 2027 general election draws near, with major political parties establishing alliances and stepping up preparations.
In the run-up to the 2027 general election, he cautioned Tinubu about what he described as excessive political maneuvers by some of the President’s followers, cautioning that such acts could damage the Nigerian leader’s reputation.
According to Nwanyanwu, certain people who identify as supporters of the President are acting in ways that alienate the public and diminish support for Tinubu.
“I think President Tinubu should be wary of certain people who claim to be his supporters. “People are losing interest in him because of their excessive enthusiasm,” he said.
According to the presidential candidate, some of Tinubu’s supporters are endangering his prospects of winning reelection by cutting ties with Nigerians who once backed him.
“I am not in a position to advise him since I am also vying for that position, but this situation is rendering him quite unpopular,” he stated.
“In addition, some people who initially backed Tinubu because of his leadership have since changed their minds because of the company he keeps.”
