Video: Insults from Okpebholo’s Assistant Before the Police Commissioner, Peter Obi Threats ADC Members

Agogo the Towncrier, an assistant to Governor Monday Okpebholo, is shown in a video going viral on the internet making a contentious speech directed at opposition members.

The video showed Okpebholo’s assistant informing Monday Agbonika, the Edo State Commissioner of Police, that he would turn over any African Democratic Congress (ADC) member discovered in the state to the police.

Additionally, he called Peter Obi, a past presidential candidate, a “stupid man.”

The police commissioner can be seen grinning during the conversation in the video, which drew criticism from onlookers who questioned if the response was appropriate considering the content of the remarks.

After making the comments in front of the commissioner, the aide—who has previously been charged with threatening Peter Obi’s safety in the state—left.

In the meantime, the advent of a new State Executive headed by Tony Alike has caused the ADC in Edo State to descend further into trouble.

Despite disagreements on the party’s leadership structure in the state, Alike and 23 other executive members were named chairman.

Sem Andrew Uchendu, the National Collation Chairman from the party headquarters, made the news.

The announcement that Nosa Ehima had been elected as the state chairman was made by Rowland Owie, a member of the party’s National Executive Committee, just twenty-four hours prior.

The current chairman, Kennedy Odion, whose term is set to end on May 19, added to the uncertainty by claiming he was not aware of any congress held in the state.

Uchendu stated that he had spent three days in the state overseeing congresses at the unit, ward, local government, and state levels prior to making the results public.

He clarified that the state’s party leaders, under the direction of John Odigie-Oyegun, the former national chairman of the All Progressives Congress, reached a consensus over the formation of the new leadership.

He claimed that the procedure was a component of attempts to guarantee the party in the state had “well-structured leadership.”

Speaking to reporters following his rise to power, Alike stated that repositioning the party and bringing together disgruntled members will be his top priorities.

He revealed that he had already visited Odigie-Oyegun to begin meetings with party leaders.

“We’re going to depart and head back to our private meeting. In the next days, we will release a policy statement. However, there is one certainty that every Nigerian holds in the highest regard. Are we content with our current situation?

That’s the query, and that’s where we’re finding the solutions. We will mobilize Nigerians to declare that this nation is everyone’s. It is not an individual’s or a group of friends’ private property.

“The opposition is the alternative when the country declares that it is sick of a lousy government. In order to prepare for the general election that begins in January, we will be revealing how we plan to actualize that over the coming days and weeks,” Uchendu stated.
