Thugs Interrupt Church Service and Attack Lawmaker’s Convoy

Emmanuel Memga Udende, a lawmaker for the Benue North-East Senatorial District, has revealed that thugs attacked his convoy and interfered with a church service he and other worshippers attended last Sunday at the House of Solution Church of All Nations (HOSCOAN) Kpe Aya, Tsua Community in Mbagbera, Vandeikya Local Government area of Benue State.

In a statement provided by his media assistant, Jerry Orgem Iorngaem, Udende clarified that thugs broke into the area prior to the conclusion of the church service, destroying plastic chairs and canopies.

He claimed that while chanting political songs, the sponsored political thugs invaded the church grounds in five buses.

Dennis Terkura Guda, the chairman of the Vandeikya Local Government Area, responded to the incident by accusing the senator of being responsible for the security breach that occurred in Vandeikya Township last Sunday during a church service.

In his capacity as the local government’s chief security officer, he also criticized Senator Udende for not formally informing him or obtaining security clearance from the relevant security authorities prior to visiting the Vandeikya local government.

Guda pointed out that these behaviors were against the established rules governing high-profile political individuals’ official trips.

Before making such a visit, a public figure of Senator Udende’s stature is expected to formally notify the local government authorities, security services, and even party leadership, especially if we are members of the same political party.

The chairman said, “The circumstances surrounding this visit, therefore, raise serious concerns about the motive behind it.”
