In Ghana, a man pilfers a police armored vehicle

Ebenezer Frimpong has been detained for allegedly robbing the Ghana Police Service of an armored truck at Nkawie Market in Ghana’s Ashanti Region.

Security personnel responded swiftly to find the suspect after the event, which apparently sparked fear in the crowded market area.

Security analyst Zagazola Makama claims that the incident happened when the driver of the police armored truck briefly moved away while the engine was still running.

Frimpong allegedly took advantage of the circumstances by getting inside the car and leaving the busy market.

Law enforcement officials launched a concerted effort to recover the car and capture the culprit after receiving reports of the theft.

In an attempt to stop the stolen car, the agents followed its path along the Nkawie–Mim road.

After what authorities called a quick and well-planned operation, Frimpong was eventually captured close to Mim.

“The vehicle was recovered intact, and the suspect was apprehended without further incident,” according to a security source.

The armored truck was recovered undamaged, according to authorities, and is now back under police possession.

The suspect is still being held while the incident’s complete circumstances are being investigated.

It is anticipated that security personnel will examine the circumstances surrounding the vehicle’s abandonment in a public area as well as the events leading up to the theft.
