Dami Ogulu, better known by his stage name Burna Boy, is a Nigerian Grammy Award-winning artist who visited Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara at Government House.

According to Naija News, Burna Boy, dressed in a well-tailored dark blue kaftan, was seen standing next to the governor in the pictures that have gone viral.

The “Last Last” singer was accompanied by music executive Soso Soberekon and his father, Samuel Ogulu.

The visit’s objective hasn’t been made public, though.

A state governor has already hosted Burna Boy. He and his group went to the Port Harcourt government house in 2021, when former governor Nyesom Wike was in office.

Burna Boy has acknowledged his conversion to Islam in the meantime.

The assertion that Burna Boy had converted to Islam has already appeared on social media, provoking strong reactions and discussion among the award-winning artist’s admirers.

The discussion started after Nigerian socialite and fashionista Rahman Jago posted a video of Burna Boy on 𝕏 (previously Twitter), where the musician could be heard saying “Alhamdulillah,” an Arabic expression that Muslims frequently use to imply “Praise be to God.”

The little video rapidly became popular on the internet, with many people wondering if the singer’s frequent usage of Islamic phrases indicated an official conversion to Islam.

Fans speculated that Burna Boy might have secretly converted to Islam after noticing that he had used Arabic language in his songs and public appearances on multiple occasions.

Burna Boy presented his thoughts on creation on Plaueboymax’s livestream, confirming his conversion from Christianity to Islam.

Reactions to the development have been conflicting; some have praised the artist, while others have questioned his perspective on creation.
