Chiefpriest Responds to Fubara’s Removal from the APC Governorship Primary: “Wike Won”

After Siminalayi Fubara withdrew from the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship primaries, Lagos socialite Okechukwu Chibuike Pascal, well known as Chiefpriest, made fun of the governor of Rivers State.

According to Naija News, on Wednesday night, Fubara personally signed a statement headed “My Decision to Withdraw from the Rivers State Gubernatorial Primaries” announcing his departure.

The governor stated that he will completely support the party’s nominee for governor and that his choice was made after careful consideration with friends, family, and political allies.

Fubara clarified that his choice was motivated by the necessity of putting Rivers State’s peace, stability, and unity ahead of his own goals.

In the end, leadership is about making sacrifices. The larger benefit of the populace must eventually take precedence over individual aspirations. The peace, stability, and unity of our beloved state must take precedence over all individual interests at this crucial time because Rivers State is greater than any one person,” he stated.

In response to Fubara’s resignation, Chief Priest said on Instagram that Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), had prevailed in the dispute between him and the Governor.

The nightlife promoter pointed out that both parties were required to abide with the agreement.

“Wike won, agreement is agreement,” he wrote.

Recall that rumors circulated online that Fubara had agreed to the stipulation that, should he be returned as governor, he would not run for office again during the peace deal with Wike.
