Betty Akeredolu: “I Do Not Regret My Marriage Across the Niger”

Betty Akeredolu, the former first lady of Ondo State, has maintained that she has no regrets over her intertribal marriage to Rotimi Akeredolu, the late former governor.

According to Naija News, Betty made the claim that Imo State in the Southeast is her home and that it cannot be disputed in a post on her Instagram page.

Betty, who plans to run for a Senate seat in the upcoming election, said that although her marriage across the Niger gave her more experience, her roots have not been lost.

The late Akeredolu’s wife insisted that she is ready for the role, emphasizing that her selfless work as Ondo State’s First Lady has improved her attitude to interacting with people from all socioeconomic classes and developed her grasp of grassroots politics.

“Imo Is Home,” she wrote.

“My origins are undeniable.”

“I am proudly from Emeabiam, my little London, Owerri West local government, Owerri zone, and Imo State.” I have no regrets about my marriage across the Niger. Although it has expanded my experience, my origins have not been lost.

My altruistic work as Ondo State’s First Lady has expanded my knowledge of grassroots politics and improved my strategy for interacting with individuals from various socioeconomic backgrounds.

If anything, these encounters have improved my readiness to serve. It’s a huge deal that I’m running for the Imo East Senate seat. Recall that I am ADA OWERE I. I’m returning home to work with others to improve Imo State, not just to feel like I belong.

“I think you can serve best at home, where you are valued.”
