Samaila Abdu Suleiman, a former member of the House of Representatives, has resigned from his role as Kaduna State’s Counselor on Infrastructure in order to run in the upcoming election.
Suleiman, who previously represented Kaduna North Federal Constituency in the National Assembly, reportedly worked for Governor Uba Sani following the 2023 elections, according to Naija News.
In a letter delivered to the Secretary to the State Government dated March 2, 2026, he formally announced his resignation to the Kaduna State Government.
The former lawmaker sent a letter to the state government announcing his immediate resignation.
Additionally, he stated that all government property in his custody would be transferred in accordance with public service regulations.
Suleiman subsequently attested to the authenticity of the resignation letter that was making the rounds.
He clarified that he decided to resign from his government job in order to take part in the next elections without violating the Electoral Act.
Suleiman represented the Kaduna North Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives for a number of years prior to being appointed to the Kaduna State Government.
He was appointed as the Kaduna administration’s Counselor on Infrastructure after losing the 2023 election, a position he held until he recently made the decision to resign and concentrate on his next political goal.
