Pasuma Discusses Busola Oke’s Career: Her Music Era Is Over

As he considers the career of his colleague, Busola Oke, veteran Fuji artist Pasuma has given his perspective on the evolving music environment.

According to Naija News, the Fuji star discussed the problems involving Busola and another singer Bayowa in an interview with Face TV Africa, claiming that any quarrel between them is private and only known by those concerned.

“Whatever arrangement they had regarding the sharing of proceeds from her songs, outsiders cannot fully understand,” he stated.

According to Pasuma, things don’t always go as planned in the music industry.

He claims that even if a song gains popularity, tangible sales could fall short of expectations.

In these situations, artists frequently rely on live performances to generate revenue.

He went on to say that because each genre has its own framework, income sharing in juju music is different from what is used in Fuji.

Using the popular song “Eleyele” by Busola as an example, Pasuma claimed that the era in which that genre predominated has ended since listeners’ tastes have evolved with time.

He pointed out that since trends change swiftly, things that were popular years ago could not be as popular now.

According to the Fuji musician, it’s difficult to stay in the business for a long time.

Artists who began singing years ago and are still performing now, in his opinion, can only give thanks to God for supporting them. He claimed that compared to earlier times, the music industry has undergone significant transformation.

“Whatever transpired between Bayowa and Busola is between them and God,” he declared. Their arrangement regarding the sharing formula for her tunes is unknown to us.

Sometimes a song will be a hit, but the CDs won’t sell as much as anticipated, therefore the performer will earn money from live performances.

Compared to Fuji, the sharing formula for juju is different. People have moved on from that genre of music, therefore the days of her singing Eleyele are long gone.

“It is only by God’s grace that anyone who was singing back then is still singing now.

“The situation has evolved. My own person is Busola. During that time, we were both with Bayowa. When I saw the video of her crying, I felt terrible for her.
