After being admitted to a recovery program, Sean Combs’ sentence was shortened.

After enrolling in a federal drug rehabilitation program, Sean “Diddy” Combs is anticipated to be released from jail earlier than originally planned.

The music executive’s anticipated release date has been rescheduled from June 4, 2028, to April 25, 2028—roughly six weeks ahead of schedule, according to Federal Bureau of Prisons public data reported by Page Six.

According to reports, the adjustment came after he was admitted to the Residential Drug Abuse Program (RDAP) in November. According to federal rules, prisoners who successfully complete the program may be eligible for sentence reductions.

A spokesman for the founder of Bad Boy Records stated that he was dedicated to the rehabilitation process at the time of his acceptance.

Mr. Combs has taken his rehabilitation process seriously from the beginning and is an active participant in the Residential Drug Abuse Program (RDAP). He is dedicated to good change, growth-oriented, and totally focused on his work,” the statement said.

In recent months, Combs’ release schedule has changed. His scheduled release date was changed from May 8, 2028, to June 4, 2028, in November 2025 due to claims that he had broken multiple prison rules while being held at the Federal Correctional Institution, Fort Dix, in New Jersey.

The rapper is still contesting his conviction at the time of the updated date. He filed an appeal in December, requesting a reduction of his four-year sentence or a reversal of the decision. His legal team contends that the punishment meted out was disproportionate and that the prosecution did not adequately prove their case.

In February, federal prosecutors urged the court to maintain the conviction and the sentence, opposing the appeal.

After a protracted trial, Combs was found guilty on two charges of transportation for prostitution. He is presently incarcerated at FCI Fort Dix.
