Ademola Lookman did not join Inter Milan, which relieved Fikayo Tomori.

Fikayo Tomori, who described Ademola Lookman as one of the most challenging strikers he has encountered in Serie A, acknowledged that he is pleased the Nigerian forward did not finalize a transfer to Inter Milan last summer.

Lookman had been strongly linked to a move from Atalanta BC to Inter during the previous transfer window, according to Naija News, but the Bergamo club declined to sell the winger to a domestic rival for less than €50 million.

Before finalizing a move to Atlético Madrid in January, the Nigerian international spent the first few months of the season in Bergamo. The attacker has made an instant impact since moving to Spain, scoring four goals and providing three assists in ten games across all competitions.

His efforts have also enabled Atlético to advance to the Copa del Rey final, where they will play Real Sociedad on April 18 at La Cartuja Stadium.

The AC Milan defender named Lookman as one of the best strikers he has faced in his five years at the San Siro in an interview with The Athletic.

There are a handful. Dybala plays in areas that are off-limits to him. Lautaro Martinez, due to his exceptional movement,” the defender remarked.

“Maybe because I know Ademola Lookman, but I always find it hard to play against him because he’s constantly moving.”

Additionally, Tomori disclosed that he made light of Lookman following the failure of the forward’s proposed transfer to Inter.

“We wouldn’t have been friends anymore if you went to Inter,” the English defender remarked, grinning. “I spoke to him when he stayed [at Atalanta].”

The 28-year-old center back, who opted to play for England rather than Nigeria, also praised Victor Osimhen.

He continued, “Osimhen is just unrelenting; he does not stop running for ninety minutes.”

Tomori joined Milan on loan at first, and over his five years there, he has made over 200 appearances for the Italian powerhouses.
