Peter Obi, the former governor of Anambra State, has been given permission to run in the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) presidential primaries in 2027.
Obi said that the screening, which lasted more than two and a half hours, happened on Tuesday in a statement released on his đ Account on Wednesday.
He claims that all of his paperwork, including degree certificates, NYSC credentials, and age declarations, were examined by the screening committee, which was chaired by former Ebonyi State Governor Sam Egwu.
Obi continued by saying that he also discussed his goals for Nigeria and the kind of leadership he would offer if he were to win the presidency.
The NDCâs democratic process was praised by the presidential candidate, who also mentioned how professional the screening committee was.
âYesterday, May 19th, in Abuja, I attended the Presidential screening organized by our party, which took over two and a half hours,â he wrote. They thoroughly examined every document I had, including my age declarations, NYSC credentials, and degree certificates.
âI also responded to inquiries about my vision for a new Nigeria and the kind of leadership our country so needs at this time. I was then approved and given the presidential nomination paperwork that I had previously paid for.
I want to thank the screening committee, which was headed by former governor Sam Egwu, for their meticulous and competent work. I also value the leadership of our party for preserving democracy.
