Bwala: Why Use Former Attack Dogs as Spokespersons? Moghalu Inquiries Tinubu

Daniel Bwala, President Bola Tinubu’s media assistant, gave a terrible interview on Al Jazeera’s program, according to Kingsley Moghalu, a former deputy governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria.

In a statement, Moghalu bemoaned the interview’s negative portrayal of President Bola Tinubu and Nigeria on the international front.

He claimed that despite Nigeria’s difficulties, a lot of people worldwide still have faith that the nation will finally reach its full potential.

“The format in which there was a global audience in the room itself, in addition to the program’s global reach, made the interview a spectacle of Nigeria,” he stated.

After what he called “such a fact-based shredding of the country’s leadership and its performance,” he questioned the audience’s perception of Nigeria.

According to Moghalu, the incident revealed larger problems with Nigeria’s political culture, which he claimed is more motivated by power conflicts and opportunism than by philosophy or a defined course for policy.

“It was a sad commentary on Nigeria’s political culture in which there are no beliefs, no policies, no ideology, just crass opportunism and the battle for political power. “It’s turncoatism,” he declared.

The former deputy governor of CBN also criticized the government’s selection of spokespersons, arguing that political appointments sometimes prioritize allegiance above ability.

“Second, the fact that Bwala, given his record, is sent out to speak for the President of Nigeria on the international stage says much about the standards by which the Nigerian government recruits people for specific roles,” he stated, adding that in these situations, “loyalty,” even if it is only temporary, seems to matter more than competence.

He also questioned the practice of designating former administration dissidents as government spokespeople or spokespersons following their political defection.

Thirdly, why designate former political opposition attack dogs as administration spokespersons and ambassadors just because they have “defected”? He inquired.

He claims that these people frequently have political baggage that damages their credibility in positions where they interact with the public.

“With blatant lies, Bwala was left trying to eat his words!” He uttered those words.

Despite criticism of the Nigerian government’s performance, Moghalu contended that there are more reliable people who could represent it.

Despite Nigeria’s poor governance, he stated, “I believe there are people who could be far more credible spokespersons and women for Nigeria’s government.”

Moghalu added that after viewing the interview, a number of friends from other countries got in touch with him, reflecting on the responses from the global community.

For our nation, it was a depressing day. Friends from all across the world have called me on multiple occasions. He remarked, “Everyone was shocked and felt bad for our country to be in such a situation.”
