Governor Douye Diri has been advised by the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) chapter in Bayelsa State to adopt inclusive administration and put the welfare of the populace ahead of partisan ambitions.
According to Naija News, Hon. Dauprebo Ikuromo, the state chairman of the NDC, made the call while chatting with reporters in Yenagoa.
In an effort to sow discord within the party, Ikuromo cautioned the state administration against purported attempts to entice NDC candidates with financial incentives.
“Avoid attempts to entice NDC aspirants with financial incentives designed to create rifts within the party,” he urged the government.
“No form of inducement can divert the NDC from its objective of assuming leadership in the state,” he said.
According to the NDC chairman, funds that are purportedly being used for political inducement need to be directed for resolving Bayelsa’s pressing development issues.
He notably mentioned the problem of gas turbines that have been put into service but are not yet operational, stating that the government had to pay attention to such projects.
Ikuromo pushed the Diri administration to concentrate on policies and initiatives that would advance economic expansion, sustainable development, and better welfare for Bayelsans.
In response to concerns of dissatisfaction inside the party, Ikuromo announced that Senator Henry Seriake Dickson was leading the establishment of a thorough grievance redress procedure.
He further stated that the list of candidates for different posts would be made public by the party’s National Executive Council within the deadline established by the Independent National Electoral Commission.
Dickson’s leadership during the party’s primary elections was praised by Ikuromo.
He claimed that Dickson ensured equitable opportunity for candidates by managing the process countrywide with subtlety, fairness, and knowledge.
Dickson’s dedication to allowing women and young people to run in the primaries was also commended by the Bayelsa NDC, which described it as in line with affirmative action and increased political engagement.
Ikuromo urged Bayelsa State’s NDC members and supporters to stay cohesive and committed.
He declared that the party was committed to overthrowing the ruling party, which he claimed had let the country down.
