Ademola Adeleke, the governor of Osun State, claims that by paying salaries and settling inherited arrears, his administration has given workers in the state their dignity back.
Adeleke stated that his government had cleared backlogs of pay, pensioners’ gratuities, and promotion arrears, and that worker welfare remained a key tenet of his administration.
According to Naija News, the governor made this claim in a message on Monday via his 𝕏 account, emphasizing that the government’s dedication to the welfare of workers was supported by concrete deeds rather than empty words.
“Our administration’s commitment to the welfare of our devoted and hardworking workers is not just a promise; we have backed it with visible action,” he declared. We have given Osun’s labor force their dignity back.
According to Adeleke, his government saw paying salaries as a duty to employes and their just compensation for their labor rather than as a political accomplishment.
He stated, “We view salary payments as a duty and the just compensation for the labor of our active and retired workers, not as a political accomplishment.”
He claims that regular training and capacity building for the state’s staff have also been given top priority by the administration.
He continued by saying that his government had produced outcomes that employes could personally witness, in contrast to earlier administrations that he accused of making hollow promises.
Adeleke stated, “We have delivered tangible results that workers can see, feel, and experience instead of offering empty promises like those in the past.”
The governor insisted that worker welfare was “a central pillar of our governance” rather than an afterthought.
“We promised to restore dignity to labor, and we have kept that promise,” he continued.
