2027: “Presidential Vision” is released by Peter Obi

Peter Obi, the Nigeria Democratic Congress’s (NDC) 2027 presidential contender, has shared his vision for Nigeria.

According to Naija News, Obi disclosed his intentions in a statement made public on Wednesday on his 𝕏 Account.

He described the declaration as his vision for a thriving and productive Nigeria, promising to put the country on the road to unification and change.

According to Obi, his vision as the NDC presidential candidate is founded on “a commitment to unity, inclusion, social justice, equity, and the freedom of every citizen to pursue lawful dreams.”

The former governor of Anambra State also stated that his reforms will concentrate on healthcare and education, which are fundamental to the development of human capital.

In order to support Nigeria’s ambition for enormous industrialization, Obi pledged, if elected, to establish a task force tasked with minimizing the threat of out-of-school children and to prioritize Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET).

He stated that his government will focus on improving the country’s agricultural endowments and set up industrial parks to be established in development zones across the various geopolitical regions of the country.

Obi also pledged to address unemployment in his submission.

“Today, being the 1st of July, 2026, I wish to humbly recall that when I decided to contest for the office of President of Nigeria, I pledged to place Nigeria on the path of unity and national transformation. In the upcoming weeks and months, as the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) candidate, I will offer insights into the roadmap that, in my opinion, will help stop government abuse, stop Nigerians’ quality of life from declining at all levels, and usher in a period of unity, peace, steady progress, and prosperity.

“This vision is based on a dedication to social justice, equity, solidarity, and the freedom of all citizens to follow their legal aspirations.

Significant changes in healthcare and education, which are fundamental to the growth of human capital, are at the center of this suggested plan.

“A strong human capital base is essential for the advancement of the country. It acts as the basic capital that is necessary for day-to-day living, economic growth, and the provision of vital public services.

If we want to benefit from the demographic dividend of our young population, we must alter these fundamental sectors with vigor and resolve.

We will create a task force to significantly lessen the threat posed by out-of-school children as soon as I take office. In order to support our drive for massive industrialization, which is based on our agricultural endowments and value addition across value chains organized around industrial parks to be located in development zones across the country’s geopolitical regions, we will place more emphasis on Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET).

“Apprenticeship opportunities in the private sector, akin to the German dual education system, would be facilitated by funding and upgrading the equipment of TVET institutions through collaborations among government, the private sector, and social entrepreneurs such as faith-based educators.

The issue of excessive unemployment and Nigerian business owners opening operations overseas due to a shortage of skilled personnel requires immediate response. We must do this to advance the common good and facilitate the transition from a consumption-driven to a production-driven economy. Our proposed tripartite model to governance will place a strong emphasis on civic education and character, highlighting shared national principles and the qualities that foster trust, which is essential for leadership and enterprise. It is possible to create a new Nigeria. -PO.
