According to Osita Okechukwu, a founding member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Nigerians are more worried about stomach infrastructure than the controversy surrounding President Bola Tinubu’s Muslim-Muslim ticket.
Okechukwu revealed this during an interview on Sunday Politics on Trust TV, according to Naija News.
According to Okechukwu, Nigerians’ top concerns are now the growing cost of living and financial difficulties.
He claims that President Tinubu’s actions over the previous three years have shown that his administration is not motivated by religious beliefs.
“Nigerians are talking about stomach infrastructure instead of the Muslim-Muslim ticket,” he stated.
“Tinubu has demonstrated over the past three years that he does not base his policies on the Muslim-Muslim ticket or out of a desire to favor Muslims.”
Additionally, Osita Okechukwu asked President Tinubu to give Vice President Kashim Shettima additional authority, especially in the areas of national security and economic management.
Speaking about the International Monetary Fund’s (IMF) recent report, which cautioned that despite improved macroeconomic stability, rising prices of necessities could exacerbate poverty and food insecurity in Nigeria, the APC chieftain contended that Shettima could be more involved in resolving some of the nation’s economic issues.
