Ten Ibadan stores are destroyed by fire

On Monday night, the Iya Maryam Adebara Complex in Ibadan’s Ogunpa Market neighborhood saw no fewer than ten stores completely destroyed by fire.

This was revealed in a statement released in Ibadan on Tuesday by Mr. Moroof Akinwande, the Chairman of the Oyo State Fire Services Agency.

According to Akinwande, at precisely 8:11 p.m. on Monday, Baale Ogunpa, Alhaji Nurudeen Lawal, called the agency’s staff to report the fire incident.

According to him, firefighters were sent to the scene of the event right away and discovered that ten of the various shops were already completely destroyed by fire.

“The Federal Fire Service also worked with us to put out the fire, and our officers quickly responded and stopped the fire from spreading to other stores and surrounding properties,” he said.

The chairman said that one of the shop’s residents had fueled an operational generator, which caused the fire.

He also praised the police officers from Iyaganku Police Headquarters for providing security and stated that no casualties were reported during the event.
