Following the presentation of his appointment letter by Seyi Tinubu, the son of President Bola Tinubu, prominent businessman and socialite Obi Iyiegbu, well known as Obi Cubana, has confirmed his nomination as the South-East Coordinator of the City Boy Movement.
In a post on his official Instagram page on Tuesday, Iyiegbu revealed the event, stating that Seyi Tinubu came to his home on Monday night to formally deliver the certificate of appointment.
“My brother and longtime buddy Seyi Tinubu stopped by my house last night. He wrote, “We had wonderful talks about everything.
The businessman, who was born in Anambra, claimed that the meeting also gave the two men a chance to talk about matters of national importance.
Iyiegbu defended his choice to accept the position in response to the conflicting public response to his new position, emphasizing that involvement and participation were the only ways to bring about change.
“I am well aware of the range of responses it has generated. I still firmly believe that constructive participation, not isolation, is the key to long-lasting change,” he stated.
“I’ve learned that influence is limited from the outside — so yes, here we are!” the nightclub entrepreneur continued, pledging his allegiance to the movement. I am a City Boy at heart, from the inside out.
He also promised that his leadership beliefs, community service, and personal values would not be compromised by his position.
He describes President Bola Tinubu as “a City Boy and a man of commerce,” adding that he would prioritize inclusivity in his new position.
Iyiegbu declared, “I am dedicated to carrying every Nigerian along in all that I do because we need each other to achieve our national aspirations.”
In addition, he urged Nigerians to put the country’s development first and asked for tolerance and respect for one another.
“Let’s appreciate different points of view, maintain lively discussions, and remain committed to creating genuine value. Now is the time—we move!” he exclaimed.
Iyiegbu pledged to work toward a more inclusive future and thanked his fans for their kindness.
