The Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) vice presidential candidate, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, received a courtesy visit from former president Olusegun Obasanjo at his Kano home.
According to information obtained by Naija News, Kwankwaso and Comrade Aminu Abdulsalam Gwarzo, the Kano NDC candidate for governor, welcomed Obasanjo on Thursday.
Saifullahi Hassan, Kwankwaso’s media assistant, confirmed the visit in a statement, characterizing it as a chance for cordial conversations between the leaders.
Nevertheless, Hassan did not elaborate on the conversation that took place between the two lawmakers.
Remember that Kwankwaso held the position of Minister of Defense from 2003 to 2007 during Obasanjo’s second term, and he has remained friendly with him ever since.
Hakeem Baba-Ahmed, the national chairman of the Peoples Redemption Party (PRP), has maintained that Kwankwaso did not acquire any nomination forms from the party.
In response to the claim that Kwankwaso purchased 69 nomination forms in order to seize control of the party prior to the 2027 elections, Baba-Ahmed provided this explanation on Tuesday in an interview on ARISE Television’s Morning Show.
Baba-Ahmed emphasized that Kwankwaso has no official affiliation with the PRP and stated that it would be impossible for him to have purchased 69 forms from the organization in Kano.
The man who claims Kwankwaso purchased the PRP nomination forms is not a party member, according to the National Chairman.
