Hajj in 2026: Radda Grants ₦3.8 Billion Loan For the Pilgrims of Katsina

In order to ensure 3,890 Hajj spots for state residents planning to travel to Saudi Arabia in 2026, the Katsina State Government has authorized a ₦3.8 billion financing facility.

According to Naija News, Dikko Radda, the governor of Katsina State, revealed this on Sunday in Katsina during the formal farewell event held for the state’s prospective pilgrims leaving for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

According to Radda, the state first encountered financial challenges in fulfilling its allotted Hajj slots through the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria, necessitating the intervention.

The state was able to secure and fill its allotted places for the exercise thanks to the financing, the governor noted.

“I was informed that the state initially had difficulties meeting its allocated Hajj slots,” he stated.

“Katsina state was able to secure and fill 3,890 slots for this year’s Hajj thanks to our approval of a ₦3.8 billion loan.”

Radda encouraged the pilgrims to pray for enduring peace, harmony, and increased security in Nigeria and Katsina State during their time in the Holy Land.

In an effort to enhance the welfare of all prospective pilgrims, the governor further declared that the state government will fund Hadaya.

He claims that each pilgrim will also be given a $500 allowance to meet their basic expenses while in Saudi Arabia.

“Every pilgrim will receive a $500 allowance to cover basic needs in Saudi Arabia,” he declared.

Throughout the Hajj practice, 200 officials have been sent to offer logistical support, medical help, and spiritual instruction.

“Every official has been carefully chosen and prepared to assist pilgrims during their journey.”

According to Radda, his government has increased the State Pilgrims Welfare Board’s ability to increase productivity and resolve earlier issues related to Hajj operations.

“We have taken deliberate steps to improve the structure and efficiency of the board,” he stated.

“I have instructed the Amirul Hajj and all pertinent authorities to guarantee stringent oversight, responsibility, and discipline among officials.”

The governor declared that the government would keep an eye on officials’ behavior and make sure pilgrims got the assistance they needed during the activity.

Radda claimed that pilgrims in the Holy Land now have better lodging and food options thanks to his government.

He mentioned the actions taken by the state administration to make the pilgrims’ experience during the exercise more comfortable and well-organized.

“Since taking office, we have ensured better accommodations and high-quality feeding for our pilgrims,” he declared.

“During previous Hajj operations, I personally inspected these facilities, and I was pleased with the progress made.”

Throughout the Hajj activity, the governor promised the pilgrims that the state government will continue to put their safety and well-being first.
