Adebayo Adelabu, a former minister of power, has announced his plan to run for governor of Oyo State, pledging to carry out initiatives and policies to raise people’s standard of living.
Adelabu announced his plan to run on the All Progressives Congress (APC) platform on Tuesday at the Obafemi Awolowo Stadium in Oke Ado, Ibadan, according to Naija News.
Prominent party officials and members, including as Kunle Sanda, Isiaka Alimi, and Wale Sanusi, were present at the occasion.
Adelabu, a former deputy governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, or CBN, told the crowd that he entered the race because he thought the state should benefit more from democracy.
“Firstly, I want to thank Almighty Allah,” he declared. This adventure began in 2019, and I think 2027 will be our own year. We express our gratitude to our deceased former Oyo State governors. I want to express my gratitude to each and every leader present.
“This declaration message is more than just a declaration. It is a synopsis of Adebayo Adelabu’s platform. Today is the day to restore Oyo State to real growth.
“I humbly stand before you to announce that I plan to run for governor in 2027 on the platform of our wonderful party, APC. I would like to express my gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the Commander-in-Chief and President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. I’m grateful for the fresh hope.
Why am I running for office again? I think Oyo State should have more, which is why. Because governance is more than just rhetoric, Oyo State deserves security and stability.
“I am running because I am confident that I have the knowledge and skills to create a more developed, economically improved Oyo State. At the local level, good governance must be felt.
