If José Mourinho gets the Los Blancos job and requests the Nigerian striker, former Super Eagles winger John Utaka has urged Victor Osimhen to think about moving to Real Madrid.
After contributing significantly to Galatasaray’s 26th league title victory, Osimhen is finishing his second season there.
The forward’s reputation as one of Europe’s most sought-after strikers has been further enhanced by his 15 goals and five assists in 22 league games this season.
The 25-year-old has been the subject of transfer rumors for the past three summer windows, with interest emerging each time.
According to recent reports from Spain, Mourinho, who is presently in charge of Benfica, is in negotiations with Real Madrid about a potential return to the Santiago Bernabéu.
After a tumultuous season under Xabi Alonso and Álvaro Arbeloa, the Portuguese coach is viewed as a candidate who can bring peace back to the locker room.
Utaka thinks Osimhen would be a perfect match under Mourinho if Madrid had to make a significant roster reconstruction.
“If I were Osimhen, I would go because Mourinho’s request indicates that he truly wants him.” Through Brila, Utaka stated, “Osimhen wants to win trophies, and Real Madrid is a perfect fit.”
For years, Mourinho has monitored Osimhen’s development. When Mourinho was the manager of AS Roma in Serie A, the two met during the striker’s tenure at Napoli. Although he has criticized certain facets of the Nigerian’s game, the coach has previously compared him to Didier Drogba.
Osimhen’s future is still up in the air, and Barcelona is keeping an eye on him before the summer transfer window opens.
According to reports, the Catalan club views him as a potential replacement for Julián Álvarez, a striker for Atletico Madrid, whose estimated worth is €200 million.
However, Galatasaray is hesitant to sell and is thought to have set a price tag of €150 million for the striker in anticipation of increasing interest.
