
President Bola Tinubu briefly lost his balance on Tuesday after walking on a metal object during his official visit to Ankara, Turkey, according to the Presidency, but he is still in good health and is attending his scheduled engagements.
Mr. Bayo Onanuga, the president’s spokesperson, explained that the president only slightly lost his balance by stepping on an object.

According to Onanuga, “the President lost his balance after stepping on a metal on the floor.”
“Aside from people who wish to turn a brief incident into mischief, this is not a big deal.”
“Thank God, it was only a stumble, not a fall,” he continued.
The President emphasized that the public should disregard efforts to sensationalize the issue.
The president is still in good health and actively doing his official duties.
In a post on his verified X handle, Mr. Sunday Dare, Special Advisor to the President on Media and Public Communication, stated that the President immediately proceeded from the formal reception to planned bilateral discussions with President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and other high-ranking Turkish officials.
The Presidency stated, “President Tinubu proceeded to scheduled bilateral meetings with the President of Turkey and other senior government officials following a stately welcome ceremony in Ankara.”
The talks are intended to improve diplomatic ties and increase collaboration in a number of important areas, including as energy, commerce and investment, defense and security, and general economic development.
The smooth course of the visit, according to the Presidency, emphasizes Nigeria’s increased diplomatic outreach under President Tinubu and the strengthening connections between Nigeria and Turkey.
