Tehran does not want to engage in talks with the United States, according to a senior adviser to the late Iranian Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
In an interview with State TV on Wednesday, Mohammad Mokhber outlined the stance, emphasizing that Iran does not trust America and sees no foundation for communication.
According to Mokhber, Iran is willing to continue the current Middle East battle for as long as it takes.
“We refuse to engage in any negotiations with the United States. You can’t trust the Americans. “We can fight the war for as long as we want,” he declared.
He claims that Iran is wary of any diplomatic attempts because of previous interactions with Washington.
According to Naija News, his comments coincide with increased hostilities after Khamenei was allegedly killed in US-Israeli bombings.
Iran has earlier declared that the late leader would have a three-day state funeral.
The Imam Khomeini Grand Mosque in Tehran will allow the faithful to pay their final respects, according to the state news agency, Islamic Republic News Agency.
According to a statement from the Islamic Development Coordination Council, “beginning at 10:00 pm (1830 GMT), the faithful will be able to pay a final homage to the body of the martyred guide of the nation, by visiting the Imam Khomenei grand mosque.”
According to Naija News, Khamenei, who was 86 when he passed away, would likely be laid to rest in his hometown of Mashhad in northeastern Iran.
