According to police, D4vd has been detained in Los Angeles in relation to the death of a teenage girl whose decomposing body was found in a car connected to him.
As detectives look into the death of 14-year-old Celeste Rivas Hernandez, who was reported missing in 2024, the 21-year-old musician, whose real name is David Anthony Burke, is being detained without bond.
Detectives were dispatched to a Hollywood tow yard in September, according to the authorities, following complaints of an unpleasant smell emanating from an impounded car that belonged to Burke.
After looking abandoned in the Hollywood Hills, the automobile was towed. Officers discovered the teenager’s fragmented remains inside.
The man had been dead for “an extended period of time before being found,” according to the Los Angeles medical examiner.
The case will be brought to prosecutors on Monday, according to police advertisements. “Prosecutors will review the facts and evidence to determine whether there is sufficient evidence to file charges,” the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office stated in a statement.
“There has been no indictment returned by any grand jury in this case and no criminal complaint filed,” Burke’s legal team said, refuting any misconduct. Only suspicion has led to David’s detention. The genuine evidence in this case will demonstrate that Celeste Rivas Hernandez was not killed by David Burke, nor was he the reason behind her demise.
Months of inquiry, including a grand jury investigation, led to the arrest. Burke was “fully cooperating with the authorities,” according to earlier police statements.
About sixty miles from Los Angeles, in Lake Elsinore, the adolescent was last saw. The type of relationship between her and the singer has not been revealed by the authorities.
