Deyemi Okanlawon, a Nollywood actor, disclosed that he gave up acting in 2019 because of “nonsense pay.”
According to Naija News, Deyemi revealed the information in a recent interview with the CreativiTea podcast.
Speaking about his experience and acting profession, Deyemi stated that he had to go back to his 9–5 job because the work did not satisfy him.
“So, I quit acting in 2019,” he stated. I stopped because both the labor and the salary were absurd. Additionally, I didn’t feel like I left my 9–5 job to come in and perform subpar work.
“It was challenging to get up in the morning and go to work, and what good is it to be passionate about something if it doesn’t fulfill you? I resumed my 9–5 job after quitting.
Deyemi Okanlawon, meanwhile, has revealed information on how he manages stress and where he finds emotional support when things go tough.
In an interview with Dear Ife, he revealed that when things get too much for him, his wife is the first person he thinks about. However, he tries not to bother her too much because she is preoccupied with her own career and also looks after their household and family duties.
The actor also mentioned that he occasionally wakes her up in the middle of the night to talk to her and provide consolation when the stress gets too great.
Okanlawon added that he is not only reliant on his spouse.
He disclosed that he has established a network of close friends, mentors, and a therapist with whom he can confide in times of need.
He believes that guys shouldn’t address all of their issues on their own since it can become too much for one person to manage.
