The Nigerian singer Simi’s manager has denied rumors that she and her husband, Adekunle Gold, intend to divorce.
According to Naija News, the allegation started to circulate online after a document purporting to be a divorce suit filed by Adekunle Gold at the Lagos State High Court appeared on social media.
The marriage had failed, according to the February 28, 2026, document, which also noted problems with emotional, financial, and professional control.
Additionally, it stated that the court was asked to decide on shared custody of their kid and dissolve the marriage.
Vincent, Simi’s manager, claimed the document wasn’t authentic.
He claimed that the document had multiple errors that demonstrated it did not originate from a legitimate judicial procedure.
He clarified that while stage names are typically not permitted in court documents, the document’s inclusion of them raised questions.
He also pointed out that the suit number written on the document showed a 2024 reference, which did not match the supposed 2026 filing date.
It’s manufactured and phony. First, as stated in the agreement, stage names are not admissible in any court of justice anywhere in the world. He said, “Even the document’s suit number (SUIT NO HCL/FC/2024/0178) is backdated to 2024.”
Simi and Adekunle Gold have been together for years. Before their relationship was made public, they were friends and musical collaborators. In a private ceremony, the pair tied the knot in January 2019.
They welcomed their daughter, Adejare, also called Deja, in 2020.
