After expressing his opinions on monogamy and commitment, Senegalese artist Akon caused a stir.
According to Naija News, the Smack That crooner stated that males are not made to be with just one lover in an interview with The Shade Room.
According to him, this is a natural part of human nature and how people are made. He clarified that, in his opinion, many men find it difficult to remain committed to a single relationship due to their innate desire for other lovers.
Additionally, the businessman distinguished between what he referred to as faithfulness and commitment. He asserts that a guy can remain emotionally devoted to one partner while still being attracted to others, but he can decide not to act on those feelings.
The father of nine insisted that emotional commitment is what counts most in a relationship and defined faithfulness as remaining committed to one person despite temptations.
“We’re not committed,” he declared. We’re not designed to be devoted. By definition, we are natural beings. Alright. We procreate because that is how God intended us to be. Therefore, we are unable to commit to one, two, three, or anything else. We’re not into it.
We’re not made to be devoted. However, fidelity is a whole other concept. I can be in a relationship with a woman and stick by her no matter what. I can have my primary chick and find the baddest woman alive, no matter what. I might be knee-deep in a motel when she bursts through the door, and I’m going to yell, “I didn’t even know her!”
“I wouldn’t even recognize her. I am loyal to this, so she has no significance to me. That’s being faithful and generating the will to fight for it. Now, dedication, we are guilty. We’re not dedicated. We will be dating several women. We are simply that. We can’t because of nature.
