Weeks after announcing he will come out of retirement, former heavyweight world champion Tyson Fury will make his comeback against Arslanbek Makhmudov in April.
The fight between the Russian Makhmudov, who is based in Canada, and the British fighter will take place in the UK on April 11; the location has not yet been disclosed. It will be streamed on Netflix.
After losing to Oleksandr Usyk for the second time in a row, Fury announced his retirement from boxing in January of last year.
The 37-year-old “Gypsy King,” who has been training in Thailand, declared earlier this month that he would return to the sport in 2026.
“Well, it’s official—I’m back doing what I love,” Fury wrote on Instagram.
“This is going to be enormous because I’ve brought the largest network with me, @netflix @netflixuk. God bless you.
Fury’s record is 34 victories, 2 losses, and 1 draw.
The 36-year-old Makhmudov, who has won 21 of his 23 fights, declared, “I am thrilled about the opportunity.” “I’m here to bring a war.”
“Tyson Fury has achieved great success. I’ll be better prepared than ever to depart with a huge W.
Fury was supposed to prepare for a long-awaited bout with Anthony Joshua, a fellow British former heavyweight champion, but Joshua’s future is unknown following a vehicle accident in Nigeria in December that claimed the lives of two of his close friends.
