The official FIFA World Cup 2026 song is released by Shakira and Burna Boy.

The 2026 FIFA World Cup song, “Dai Dai,” was officially launched by international music icon Shakira in partnership with Nigerian Afrobeats phenomenon Burna Boy.

According to Naija News, the Colombian singer used her social media accounts to announce the release of the eagerly awaited song on Friday.

“This is Dai Dai. “The @FIFAWorldCup 2026 begins now!” she wrote.

In a statement published on its official X account, FIFA, the world football governing body, also acknowledged the song’s release, stating that it is currently accessible on all major streaming services.

FIFA claims that the song captures the energy and fervor that are anticipated to characterize the international football competition.

“Today, with the release of Dai Dai, featuring Shakira and Burna Boy via Sony Music Latin, excitement for the FIFA World Cup 2026TM continues to grow.”

The announcement said, “The track, which is currently available on all major streaming platforms, captures the energy, passion, and global spirit that will define the greatest show on earth.”

The FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund, a program aimed at gathering $100 million before the tournament’s conclusion to give kids all around the world access to high-quality education and football possibilities, would benefit from the song’s revenues, FIFA revealed.

FIFA noted, “Dai Dai will be the Official FIFA World Cup 2026TM Song in support of FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund, which aims to raise USD 100 million by the end of the tournament to provide children around the world with access to quality education and football opportunities.”

The organization added that Sony Music will match the first $250,000 raised with an additional donation, and Shakira would contribute her song royalties to the initiative.

Resilience, ambition, unity, and worldwide togetherness are the main themes of the uplifting song.

Legendary football players like Pelé, Diego Maradona, Paolo Maldini, Roméo, Cristiano Ronaldo, Andrés Iniesta, David Beckham, Kaká, Lionel Messi, Kylian Mbappé, and Mohamed Salah were mentioned by the artists in one of the verses.

A number of football-loving countries, including Brazil, Argentina, Colombia, the United States, England, Germany, France, South Africa, Spain, Mexico, Japan, South Korea, and the Netherlands, are also highlighted in the song.

Following the popularity of her previous tournament songs, Waka Waka (This Time for Africa) for the 2010 World Cup in South Africa and La La La for the 2014 tournament in Brazil, Shakira is making her comeback to the FIFA World Cup stage with this release.

According to Burna Boy, the partnership represents yet another significant international turning point for Afrobeats.

Additionally, he is the second Nigerian musician to appear on an official FIFA World Cup song, following Davido’s appearance on Hayya Hayya (Better Together), which included Qatari musician AISHA and American singer Trinidad Cardona.

FIFA also revealed that Nigerian Afrobeats musician Rema would be the main attraction for the 2026 FIFA World Cup opening ceremony, which is set for June 12 in Los Angeles.

Shakira will co-headline the tournament’s final halftime show on July 19, which will be the first halftime performance in FIFA World Cup history, the football body further disclosed.

FIFA claims that in support of the education fund, the halftime performance will bring together international performers “at the intersection of sport, culture, and purpose.”

“Dai Dai” joins previously published songs from the official FIFA World Cup 2026 album, such as “Lighter,” “Por Ella,” “Echo,” and “Illuminate,” according to the organization. More releases are anticipated before to the competition.
