Man City denies Haaland’s exit claims and threatens legal action due to reports from Real Madrid.

There is no condition in Erling Haaland’s contract that would let him to quit the team for Real Madrid this summer, according to Manchester City, which has denied rumors that he may do so.

The Premier League winners were reacting to remarks made by one of Real Madrid’s presidential hopefuls, Enrique Riquelme.

If elected, Riquelme had promised to bring Rodri and Haaland to the Santiago Bernabeu. Additionally, he asserted that a release provision in the Norway international’s contract might facilitate a transfer.

“The stories which have emerged from Spain regarding the future of Erling Haaland are false,” City said in a quick denial of the allegation.

This is not likely to occur, and there is no clause in the contract that would allow it.

“We are thinking about taking legal action regarding the use of our player image in this situation.”

Following rumors in Spain that Riquelme and Haaland had already signed a deal ahead of a possible takeover at Real Madrid, the debate gained further traction.

Haaland’s father, Alfie Haaland, and his agent, Rafaela Pimenta, responded to the allegations in a rare public manner, swiftly putting an end to the rumors.

It’s all really amusing, but it’s untrue. In a joint statement, Alfie and Pimenta said, “We wish both candidates the best of luck in the Real Madrid election.”

Haaland is frequently linked to a move to Spain and has been a long-term goal for Real Madrid. But earlier this year, the 25-year-old signed a new contract with City in January 2025, pledging his future to the team.

The agreement binds the successful forward to the Etihad Stadium through June 2034.
