Former Manchester United defender Patrice Evra has once again taken aim at former Arsenal striker Theo Walcott for drawing comparisons between the current Arsenal club vying for the championship and the legendary 2008 Manchester United team.
Prior to Arsenal’s UEFA Champions League match against Inter Milan in January, Walcott asked Wayne Rooney a contentious question that sparked outrage among supporters.
In the conversation, Walcott questioned whether Mikel Arteta’s 2025–2026 Arsenal team could compete with the 2008 Manchester United team.
According to Naija News, Rooney, a crucial member of that United team, responded bluntly, saying his club would “batter” the current Gunners.
At the time, Evra reacted without holding back, saying Walcott must have been intoxicated to draw such a connection and telling him to quit his job as a commentator.
In a recent discussion with Rio Ferdinand and Ryan Giggs, his old United teammates, the former left-back intensified his criticism.
Evra made a lighthearted threat to leave the show after Ferdinand brought up Walcott’s remarks, and then she made another harsh comment.
That’s Arsenal’s issue. Walcott is now drawing comparisons between this team and our 2008 squad, according to Evra.
He poses a menace to society, in my opinion. He shouldn’t be on television. similar to comparing… No, he poses a risk to the children. I continue to call them delusional because of this.
“They Act Based on False Beliefs”
The Frenchman also brought up an earlier video in which he questioned Arsenal’s legitimacy in the championship fight and compared the team’s aspirations to a scripted Netflix film.
He went on, “And I know I speak from the heart, but they are acting on false beliefs.”
“This is disrespectful. If he continues to ask such questions, he should never appear on television again.
