Eddie Hearn Rejects Anthony Joshua vs. Fury Fight Allegations

Eddie Hearn, the manager of Matchroom, has denied rumors that Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury will face off in a heavyweight bout, stating that no agreement has been struck despite growing conjecture.

After boxing journalist Gareth A. Davies stated that the eagerly awaited fight was already arranged behind the scenes and scheduled for Netflix, rumors began to circulate.

The battle between Fury and Joshua has been signed. It’s signed in the backdrop, all right. I have solid authority on that. It’s with the wealthy individuals. Davies stated on talkSPORT that it will be available on Netflix.

Eddie Hearn, however, refuted the allegations in an interview with The Stomping Ground. “There is absolutely nothing signed with Anthony Joshua to fight Tyson Fury next,” he declared. Nothing has been agreed upon.

He acknowledged that talks had already gained traction prior to Joshua’s plans being interrupted on December 29 by a fatal vehicle accident on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.

Only a few days after Joshua stopped Jake Paul in Miami, the tragedy took the lives of his close colleagues, including recovery therapist Sina Ghami and personal trainer Kevin Ayodele.

Before the accident, there were in-depth discussions about his plans to fight Jake Paul, then Tyson Fury in Saudi Arabia in February or March. Then, of course, the accident occurred,” Hearn remarked.

“Aside from discussions about beginning to consider revisiting the plan in the last few days, there haven’t really been any conversations about that fight.”

Joshua has since resumed training and plans to make a summer comeback, according to Naija News. Dillian Whyte has emerged as a potential opponent. If all goes according to plan, a fight with Fury can still happen later this year.

However, on a Netflix bill that also includes Conor Benn, Fury is scheduled to make a comeback to the ring on April 11 at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium against Arslanbek Makhmudov. The former champion had decided to retire from boxing more than a year ago, but he later changed his mind.
