After breaking his arm during Galatasaray’s loss to Liverpool, Osimhen must decide whether to get surgery.

Victor Osimhen, who fractured his arm after Galatasaray’s crushing Champions League loss to Liverpool FC at Anfield, is waiting anxiously for a potential surgery.

After suffering an injury early in Wednesday night’s Round of 16 second-leg match, Victor Osimhen was substituted at halftime. Galatasaray ultimately lost 4-0, losing 4-1 overall to Arne Slot’s team.

The Turkish club revealed the seriousness of the injury in a statement.

After inspections at halftime, our player Victor Osimhen, who sustained an injury to his arm in the first half of our Champions League Round of 16 second leg encounter against Liverpool away from home, was not permitted to participate in the second half owing to the possibility of a fracture, the club stated.

“After the game, a hospital examination overseen by our medical staff revealed a fracture in his right forearm, and a cast was put on. In the upcoming days, a surgical decision will be taken following additional assessments.

Ibrahima Konaté’s challenge injured Osimhen, but he continued to play until the half before being substituted.

Despite the injury, head coach Okan Buruk acknowledged that the team made an effort to keep the Nigerian on the field.

“Osimhen is hurting too. We attempted to keep him on the field at the start of the game, but his agony got worse, so we had to replace him at halftime, according to Buruk.

“Looking at Osimhen’s position, we saw that Konaté was able to commit these fouls very easily, he could easily apply any kind of foul,” he continued, criticizing the refereeing. Although we were hoping for the world’s greatest referee, the game was officiated by one of the worst.

Buruk acknowledged that his team was inferior after the loss.

“Our opponent deserved to win the match much more than we did,” he declared. Our early start to the game, Osimhen’s injury, our incapacity to establish a presence during the game, and the confidence we gave our opponent were all regrettable incidents.
