David Chukwueze, his brother, broke the news by posting heartfelt words on his Instagram story in remembrance of their mother.
He sent three different messages: “You didn’t even carry your grandchild,” “My forever love just left me without saying goodbye,” and “I can’t even post your picture to say RIP Mum.”
Chukwueze, a member of the Super Eagles squad that placed third in the just ended Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco, has not yet responded.
Wilfred Ndidi, another Super Eagles player and team captain, lost his father in an automobile accident earlier this week.
