TCN Reactivates 330kV Line, Strengthening the Nation’s Grid

After crucial repair work was finished, the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) said that the 330kV Shiroro-Mando Transmission Line 2 was successfully put back into operation.

Ndidi Mbah, the company’s general manager of public affairs, revealed the development on Monday (today) in a post on the 𝕏 account.

She said that following considerable technical interventions by TCN specialists, the transmission line was re-energized at 8:32 p.m. on Thursday, February 19, 2026.

According to Mbah, preserving the infrastructure’s structural integrity and operational dependability was a top priority during the repair effort.

She pointed out that in order to guarantee the line’s best performance, the work was carried out strictly in accordance with safety and quality requirements.

“The 330kV transmission line between Shiroro and Manda is now completely operational, with both Lines 1 and 2 in operation.

“This restoration strengthens the overall reliability of the national grid, increases network flexibility, and greatly improves Kaduna Electric’s ability to transmit bulk electricity to its franchise area,” she said.

According to Naija News, a TCN representative called the reopening of both circuits a significant turning point in the company’s continuous efforts to strengthen and modernize Nigeria’s transmission infrastructure.

Mbah went on to say that the improvement would help make the grid’s electricity supply more dependable and steady.

She claims that TCN’s dedication to bolstering transmission infrastructure and enhancing service delivery across the country is reflected in the restoration.

Customers and stakeholders were thanked by the company for their understanding and patience during the interruption.

For the benefit of Nigerians, TCN reaffirmed its dedication to creating a more robust and effective national grid.
