Senator Natasha Discusses Her Conflict With National Assembly Staff: “Removing My Name Was Not Just Oversight.”

Following the release of tapes showing her fighting with certain National Assembly employees, Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, who represents Kogi Central in the National Assembly, has spoken out.

According to Naija News, Natasha said in an Instagram post that she was noticeably left out of the Senate Committee meeting of the North Central Development Commission (NCDC), where the lawmakers discussed the Commission’s 2026 budget and interacted with it.

As a serving senator from the area, the senator said she was supposed to be present at the meeting but only learned about it 20 minutes before it was scheduled to end.

As a serving senator from the area, the senator said she was supposed to be present at the meeting but only learned about it 20 minutes before it was scheduled to end.

Natasha emphasized that he was not included in the Senate’s NCDC communication platform, which disseminates official information, nor was he made aware of the meeting.

The member emphasized that it was not a simple oversight but rather a purposeful omission when she said that her name was not on the list of lawmakers scheduled to attend the budget screening.

“Today, Titus Zam, the chair of the Senate Committee on the North Central Development Commission (NCDC), convened to engage with the Commission and discuss its 2026 budget proposal,” she said.

“I wasn’t invited or informed. Just twenty minutes before the meeting finished, I became aware of it. Members of the NCDC management were leaving the Senate Complex when I got to the National Assembly. I went straight to Room 431 to try to join the remainder of the session, but four committee staff members told me that the meeting was over.

“The committee clerk informed me it was probably a “oversight” when I insisted on knowing why I was not included even though I was a senator from the North Central zone.

But when I asked for the attendance record, I found that my name was not even on the list of North Central senators. This wasn’t just a mistake. It was a purposeful omission from the record.

In order to get explanation, I went to the Chairman’s office. I faced what I perceive to be a conscious effort to exclude me, and consequently the residents of Kogi Central, from a crucial financial procedure that directly impacts our district, in front of three other people.

“I expressed obvious concerns:

  • I wasn’t informed.
  • No invitation was extended to me.
  • The committee registration does not include my name.
  • The Senate’s NCDC communication platform, which disseminates official information, did not include me.
