Following their recent political transition from the African Democratic Congress (ADC) to the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), former presidential candidates Peter Obi and Rabiu Kwankwaso, according to former presidential adviser Reuben Abati, acted sensibly out of fear.
According to Naija News, Abati mentioned the uncertainty surrounding the Supreme Court’s decision regarding the ADC leadership dispute during ARISE Television’s “The Morning Show,” emphasizing that Peter Obi and Kwankwaso might have foreseen possible legal and structural difficulties inside the party.
The seasoned journalist claims that the party’s future is uncertain due to the Federal High Court’s referral of its substantive concerns, which has led both Peter Obi and Kwankwaso to join another political platform.
Abati went on to say that there are still unanswered concerns regarding both candidates’ future political paths, including whether they will run on the same ticket and what kind of alliance they might form before the next elections.
“Peter Obi and Rabiu Kwankwaso acted wisely out of fear because it is very clear that the ADC that they joined is not going to work, you could run into troubled matters,” he stated.
They are unsure of the outcome because the substantive matter has been sent to the Federal High Court. As a result, they swiftly switched to a different platform.
But what is the next step for both candidates? Will the ticket be okay? The main question will be, “What is the alliance advertising?”
