Chukwuma Soludo, the governor of Anambra State, swore in eighteen commissioners on Monday after the state House of Assembly confirmed them.
In the state capital of Awka, the ceremony took place in the Executive Council Chambers of the Government House, also called the Light House.
Stressing that their appointment should be viewed as a summons to public service rather than an occasion for personal celebration, Soludo urged the recently appointed commissioners with providing high-quality service to the people of Anambra State.
Shortly after the oath-taking ceremony, Soludo addressed the commissioners, referring to them as members of his “Team Solution 2.0.”
He exhorted them to uphold their oaths of office and to adopt what he referred to as the “Anambra spirit” of excellence.
The governor stated that the new cabinet members’ duty called for accountability, discipline, sacrifice, and caution.
“I welcome you all to the ‘Team Solution 2.0,'” he declared. Don’t celebrate your appointments; instead, view them as a summons to hard labor, selflessness, and civic responsibility.
“I remind you that the decisions you make will directly affect the lives of over nine million people in Anambra State, and I urge you to immediately concentrate on the task of governance.”
“Everyone on this team has undergone a rigorous screening procedure, and we were quite deliberate in our selection. It is our responsibility that you manage your individual ministries with extreme caution and cooperation.
Ben Odoemena for Agriculture, Chukwukadibia Okoye for Budget and Economic Planning, Udoji Amedu for Culture, Entertainment, and Tourism, and Dr. Ekene Ogugua for Education are among the commissioners that were sworn in.

Mefor, Obidike, and Agha were among the commissioners who served during the governor’s initial tenure.
The state cabinet now has 20 commissioners after the swearing-in.
Izuchukwu Okafor was sworn in as Commissioner for Finance on March 25, while Tochukwu Nweke, SAN, was sworn in as Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice.
After the inauguration on Monday, Soludo’s government now has 20 commissioners.
During the event, Soludo also inaugurated four agency heads.
Among them are Emeka Okonkwo, the managing director of the Anambra Road Traffic Agency; Dr. Ossy Onuko, the managing director of the Awka Capital Territory Development Authority; Fred Agbata, the managing director of the Information Communication Technology Agency; and Obi Okonkwo, the managing director of the Bureau of Public Procurement.
The governor asked all of the appointees to collaborate, cut down on waste, and make sure that state people actually benefit from government initiatives.
