The 2,420 delegates from the state’s 44 local government districts affirmed the party executives.
The state congress was presided over by Latep Dabang, a national party official, and took place at the Sani Abacha Indoor Stadium.
According to Dabang, the newly elected executives would oversee the party’s operations for the ensuing four years.
“We have about 36 ballot boxes that we have prepared, and we are going to conduct an election,” he said. However, we have been informed that today’s election would be conducted by consensus due to the interventions of the stakeholders. Even by the looks on your delegates’ faces, I can tell that they are pleased with the choices you made,” Dabang remarked.
Doguwa pledged in his acceptance speech to never give up on securing the party’s unity and winning the state and national general elections in 2027.
Abdullahi Abbas, the party’s departing chairman, earlier declared that Tinubu and Governor Yusuf will win the 2027 general elections by whatever means necessary.
In order to solidify the party’s victories in the state, he asked members to continue supporting and cooperating with the new leadership.
Top state politicians, including Governor Abba Yusuf, Deputy Senate President Senator Barau Jibrin, Speaker of the Kano State House of Assembly Rt. Hon. Jibrin Falgore, 2023 APC gubernatorial candidate running mate Sule Garo, former Minister of Housing and Urban Development Abdullahi Tijjani Gwarzo, and Abdulkarim Abdulsalam AA Zaura, were present at the Congress.
