Days after cutting the price of gasoline, the Dangote Petroleum Refinery has lowered the cost of diesel and aviation fuel at its loading gantry.
According to Naija News, the refinery reduced the cost of automotive gas oil, or diesel, by ₦100 per litre.
Punch claims that the product now costs ₦1,600 per litre instead than ₦1,700.
Jet fuel, or aviation turbine kerosene, also saw a ₦100 decrease, going from ₦1,550 to ₦1,450 per litre.
The most recent change was made soon after the refinery declared a ₦75 drop in the gate price of Premium Motor Spirit, also known as gasoline.
The price of gasoline was lowered from ₦1,250 to ₦1,175 per litre.
The recent drop in crude oil prices worldwide after tensions in the Middle East have subsided has been connected to the price reductions.
In other news, petroleum product marketers have stated that a decrease in ex-depot prices, spearheaded by the Dangote Petroleum Refinery, may cause the pump price of Premium Motor Spirit, also known as gasoline, to drop to roughly ₦1,200 per litre.
According to Petroleumprice, the cut has also compelled other depot owners to modify their prices to roughly ₦1,180 per litre.ng.
The decrease at the pump hasn’t yet been reflected in filling stations, though, as many of them continued to sell gasoline on Tuesday for roughly ₦1,280 per liter.
The delay, according to marketers, was caused by the need to get rid of outdated inventory that had been purchased at a premium.
