Banditry: Muslims Are Urged to Seek Divine Intervention by Governor Zulum

Babagana Umara Zulum, the governor of Borno State, has called on Muslims to pray against the state’s insecurity during the final ten days of the holy month of Ramadan.

Dauda Iliya, Zulum’s Special Advisor, made the request in a statement.

The governor, who is presently performing the Lesser Hajj in Saudi Arabia, claimed to have led the Muslim ummah in the Holy Land in a special prayer session for enduring peace in the state and throughout Nigeria.

“The recent coordinated attacks by Boko Haram insurgents should not in any way dampen the spirit of resilience and unity of purpose to confront the common enemy,” he said.

“Let’s intensify prayers to Almighty Allah and beseech Him through all other acts of worship to attract His mercies, blessings, and rewards as we usher in the final ten days of the Holy month of Ramadan,” Zulum said.

In light of the recent attacks on our communities, let us all reaffirm our faith throughout this month of prayer and petition. In order to put an end to this drawn-out dispute, I will also take part in special prayers with other Muslims in the Holy Land.

“I also want to invite the Christian community to participate in the special prayers during Lent.

The reinvigorated assault ought to serve as a unifying factor in the fight against the shared foe. “We will triumph insha’Allah; this eclipse is only temporary,” he pleaded.

Governor Zulum expressed his condolences to everyone who lost loved ones in the recent assaults and assured them that the Borno State government will continue to give the military and other security agencies all the assistance they need to put an end to the threat of terrorism and insurgency.
