Adeleke, Ooni’s second-in-command, has saved us from international humiliation.

Governor Ademola Adeleke has received praise for the state’s structural development from Oba Idowu Adediwura, the Obalufe of Ile-Ife, Osun State, who serves as the second-in-command to Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi.

Following an Osun State Government officials’ project inspection trip, Adediwura told Punch that Adeleke’s projects have helped protect the town’s cultural legacy and have kept it out of the spotlight.

The leader of the kingmakers, Adediwura, bemoaned the years of infrastructure neglect in Ile-Ife, saying that it embarrassed the birthplace of the Yoruba race whenever tourists came from all over the world.

However, he said that the Adeleke administration’s ongoing ₦14 billion flyover and 17 road projects had made it easier to reach the town’s cultural hubs.

He said the initiatives would honor Ile-Ife as the birthplace of the Yoruba ethnicity and foster culture.

“It will be regrettable when tourists from all over the world arrive at their destination and discover that the majority of the roads are impassable,” he stated. It’s really embarrassing.

“With the ongoing flyover project and other township roads, Governor Adeleke has saved us from international shame, and for that I want to thank her.

“Our culture will be promoted in Ife with good roads.” Travelers and worshippers will use upgraded roads as the Olojo festival in September and the Aje festival next week get near.
