According to new data released on Thursday, the number of males undergoing plastic surgery has almost doubled in less than ten years.
According to data presented at the annual convention of the cosmetic medicine industry in Paris, younger men and those from the Middle East and Latin America have been more eager to get these treatments.
According to the International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, between 2018 and 2024, there was a 95% increase in the number of surgeries performed on men globally.
In contrast, non-surgical cosmetic procedures including injections, laser therapy, and peels increased by an additional 116%.
During this time, women saw a 59% increase in cosmetic procedures and a 55% increase in treatments.
According to a market analysis presented at the IMCAS conference, “this trend, which is particularly pronounced in the Middle East and Latin America, reflects a profound transformation of social norms and growing acceptance of cosmetic procedures by men.”
According to the report, “Millennials and Generation Z are accessing cosmetic medicine much earlier than previous generations.”
However, the data shows that men still only account for 16% of all cosmetic treatments.
IMCAS economic analyst Laurent Brones told AFP, “We have truly entered a consumer-driven approach to aesthetics, whereas ten or fifteen years ago it was still very elitist.”
With over 45% of the world market in 2025, the United States has the highest demand for plastic surgery.
