Tension As Bandits Dressed In Hijab Storm Sokoto Village, Kill, Abduct Numerous

According to reports, armed bandits wearing women’s hijabs stormed Mallamawar Yari hamlet in the Gawakuke ward of Rabah Local Government Area in Sokoto State, killing a number of locals and kidnapping numerous others.

Naija News is aware that the incident, which took place late on Saturday night, has increased residents’ anxiety since insecurity persists in a number of the state’s villages.

Security analyst Bakatsine posted information about the incident on the social media site 𝕏 (formerly Twitter) on Sunday.

The security analyst said that the terrorists broke into the community while it was dark and began a massive assault on the locals.

He disclosed that the gunmen were allegedly wearing women’s hijabs, which is said to have allowed them to travel around the neighborhood without drawing attention to themselves before to the attack.

The report claims that during the raid, the attackers abducted residents and opened fire on them.

According to reports, the attack claimed the lives of several locals, while the gunmen forcibly removed several more to an undisclosed location.

Residents of nearby settlements, many of whom have frequently been threatened by bandit groups operating in various regions of the state, are now much more anxious as a result of the most recent attack.

In his post, Bakatsine cautioned that the increasing frequency of violent attacks in the area raises grave worries about the safety of the impacted people.

Mallamawar Yari village in Gawakuke ward, Rabah LGA, Sokoto State, was allegedly attacked last night by armed bandits wearing women’s hijabs. The attack resulted in the deaths of several individuals and the kidnapping of numerous others, he wrote.

The analyst also questioned the actions authorities were doing to address the state’s deteriorating security situation.

“What tangible steps are being taken to stop the growing wave of insecurity in the state, given that attacks are still occurring across communities in Sokoto State?” he continued.

As of the time this article was filed, neither the state government nor security services had released an official statement confirming the attack, according to Naija News.
