Actor Kunle Remi: “Nigerians Are Animals, Dirty Habits Cause Floods”

Nollywood star Kunle Remi has criticized Nigerians’ poor sanitation practices, attributing the country’s frequent flooding to negligent garbage management and a lack of environmental consciousness.

Lagos and other sections of the nation have seen significant flooding in recent days, according to Naija News.

The actor, who is well-known for his witty yet direct criticism on social issues, accused people on social media of causing flooding by disposing of trash in public areas and drainage channels.

“Let’s be honest. There is flooding everywhere because Nigerians are filthy people, according to Remi.

Remi cautioned that clogged drainage will continue to exacerbate flooding, particularly during periods of intense rains, and urged Nigerians to take more responsibility for their environment.

“Let’s stop throwing trash into drainage,” he declared. Let’s cease obstructing the drains. We are merely creatures. Keep an eye out and be alert. When you witness someone doing this, speak up. Make them right. Call them out even if they toss objects out of moving vehicles.

The actor also denounced the lack of discipline in public areas, especially among commuters who recklessly dispose of their trash.

“People toss the nylon outside and eat groundnuts inside the vehicle. He questioned, “Why won’t it flood?”

“Trucks May Be Needed by Lagos Residents”
Remi cautioned that the flooding situation was becoming worse, particularly in Lagos, where heavy rainfall frequently submerges several roads and neighborhoods.

Jokes aside, though, things are becoming worse. Everyone in Lagos will eventually use trucks. If you need a truck, get one right away because utilizing a saloon car will get you into problems. “You must purchase an SUV or a truck,” he said.

He insisted that if people stopped improperly dumping of their waste and became more aware of their behaviors, the flooding situation might be lessened.

It would be better if everyone was aware of it, talked about it, and acted morally by not discarding items. He continued, “This flood thing is just dirtiness.”
