Nigerian disc jockey Ms. Dsf, whose real name is Dorcas Shola Fapson, has expressed her opinions about the Mirabel incident.
According to Naija News, the story started when Mirabel, a TikTok user going by the handle @mirab351, uploaded recordings claiming to have been sexually attacked in her Ogijo, Ogun State, residence.
The posts sparked widespread calls for justice and swiftly went viral on social media, rising under hashtags like #StopRapingWomen.
Mirabel was not detained, according to later confirmation from the authorities. After willingly reporting the occurrence, she was brought to a hospital for assessment. According to the Ogun State Police, the case is still being investigated, and the evidence is being analyzed to ascertain the truth.
The case changed course when Mirabel recanted her statements, apologizing to the public and acknowledging in a widely shared tape that some of her account was untrue.
Police are planning to take legal action against her for giving false information if she is released from the hospital as a result of her reversal.
In response to the occurrence, Ms. Dsf stated that she first questioned the story and hypothesized that the TikToker might be dealing with mental health issues that need care.
“To be honest, when I first saw the video, & “DM,” I didn’t believe it,” she wrote. Call it discernment, but there was a serious problem. I firmly believe that she should be punished and handled as such because she has mental health issues.
