Michael Adebayo Olayinka, better known by his stage name Ruger, is a Nigerian Afrobeats artist who has expressed regret about not being able to appear in one of Nollywood actress and producer Funke Akindele’s blockbusters a few years ago.
Ruger recalled the lost chance in an interview with Nigerian media personality VJ Adams, according to Naija News.
Ruger claims that Funke frequently connects with his songs. He intended to thank her on social media, but he discovered that she had already messaged him asking if he would be interested in appearing in one of her films. He didn’t see the message until it was too late.
The musician emphasized that the message still pains him and expressed how depressed he felt after seeing it.
“I am interested in acting and wouldn’t mind going into the movie industry,” he declared. Funke Akindele once sent me a direct message about a movie role. I didn’t even see it in time. I still hurt about that one.
But since I dislike shooting, I believe that acting would be challenging for me. I would still get into character, though. Yes, if my character is intriguing.
In other news, Nollywood star Tobi Makinde has refuted reports that he and Funke Akindele are at odds, stating that there is no issue between them.
In a recent BBC interview, he refuted the allegations circulating on the internet.
He claims that nothing has transpired between them and that he has no idea where the rumor of a fight originated.
He clarified that a lot of these rumors are frequently started on social media, where users construct narratives and attempt to link actual persons to them.
